three baseline-monitoring sites: CAP Canal above Waddell Canal (R1), CAP
Canal at 7th Street (R4) and the Deer Valley WTP Inlet (R16)
 | Trichome and straight to slightly curved often forming a bundle or thallus |
| Trichomes brilliant blue-green or olive green in color |
| Cells not distinctly placed from one another and not constricted at crosswalls |
| Cells often possess granulated septa |
| Rarely quadrate, cells 2-4 times longer than broad (3-9 µm long) |
| End cells gradually attenuated and bent, sometimes screw-like or a sickle |
| Trichomes range from 2-3 µm in diameter |
| Sheath absent |
| Trichomes exhibit gliding movement and waving or spiral movements
at the ends |
